It’s been two years since Massar Choir has started, and over the time the choir has been able to occupy a special place in “Amwaj Massar” exhibition, using music as a theme to develop various skills in young people.
The choir participated in different concerts around Syria, including the recent “Kitharat Al Rouh” Festival at the Opera House in Damascus on the 26th of March, winning the Audience Award for the song “bdak Janeh”. The song was composed by one of Massar special and talented beneficiary “Gabi Sahuni”; it was also performed in the sign language by the group of deaf and mute youth from Lattakia.
The choir was born in 2008 with only 15 members of Massar young beneficiaries and it has grown ever since to include 55 members today.
Massar choir is incubated by Lattakia Discovery Centre which was established in 2007.
